At NDCL, our Counseling Department plays a vital role in supporting the whole student throughout their high school journey. All four of our licensed, master’s-level counselors are committed to fostering growth in three key areas aligned with the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) model:

  • Academic achievement
  • College and career readiness
  • Personal and social development

Overview of Counseling Services

NDCL counselors work closely with students through monthly classroom-based Counseling Seminars, providing consistent opportunities to connect, build meaningful relationships, and share important academic, personal, and post-secondary planning information.

Students are assigned to counselors alphabetically by last name and remain with the same counselor throughout their four years at NDCL. This structure allows counselors to develop strong, lasting relationships with students and their families—ensuring personalized, student-centered support.

In addition to student services, our counselors collaborate with parents as vital partners in education. Beginning sophomore year, our team provides college planning programming, which includes expert insight from college admission and financial aid professionals.

For students who require additional academic support, counselors coordinate with academic coaches and connect students to resources through our Academic Success Center.
