Retreats are at the heart of the NDCL faith experience. More than just a break from the classroom, they are life-changing opportunities for our students to pause, reflect, and grow in their relationship with Christ and one another.

Each retreat is rooted in one of NDCL’s core values—Community, Respect, Justice, Integrity, and Excellence—helping to form leaders who live the truth in love.

Every student participates in a class retreat each year, building a foundation of faith and leadership that grows throughout their NDCL journey:

  • Freshman COMMUNITY Retreat Outdoor experience on NDCL’s campus designed to welcome students into our Lion family. Dress for the weather. Lunch provided. Includes Mass.

  • Sophomore RESPECT Retreat Held at Camp Burton, this retreat engages students in dynamic team-building activities that highlight and strengthen the core value of respect—for themselves, their classmates, and their community. Includes Mass.

  • Junior JUSTICE Retreat Students partner with a local organization—chosen from options provided by the Campus Ministry Department—to serve and reflect on how they can live out the core value of Justice through both faith and action.

  • Senior INTEGRITY Retreat An unforgettable day kayaking down the scenic Cuyahoga River, this retreat challenges students to reflect on their journey, embrace the core value of Integrity, and prepare for life beyond NDCL. Along the way, they’ll build lasting memories with classmates, share in prayer, and celebrate Mass together.

  • Kairos Retreat (EXCELLENCE) For juniors and seniors, Kairos is a powerful 3–4 day, student-led retreat that draws participants into a deeper relationship with Christ, themselves, and others. It is often described as a highlight of the NDCL experience.Parents will receive detailed information once registration is submitted.

At NDCL, retreats aren’t just events—they are milestones in a student’s spiritual journey, shaping hearts and minds to lead and love as Jesus did.
